kmod-sata_via

Note: This package is deprecated by the release of RHEL 6.1 which fixes the issue.

This package provides an updated sata_via driver that fixes a bug with VIA vt6420/vt6421 controllers and some hard disks (see: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15173). The patches are backported from the upstream kernel (2.6.38.5)

It is built to depend upon the specific ABI provided by a range of releases of the same variant of the Linux kernel and not on any one specific build.
